NeaDB

NeaDB is a little database managment system for storing and handling mathematical data. Its focus is on smallness and effectiveness. With only 28 kilobytes and ascetic handling of data the server doesn't waste anything. Or that was the original plan, being on a pre-alpha state, nothing is yet complete. Memory overflows and handicapped I/O -calls may, and unfourtanetly propably will happen. But this is it, this is how far can a database managment system go without testing in a proper scale.

With NeaDB you won't handle the data with SQL-querys but with a style which is propably better for mathematical exploration of the data. The syntax for importing data goes like:

|t|c|r|=100.0;

Where t is the number of a table, c is the number of a column and r is the number of a row. So, for example, populating the cell number 4 of column number two of table number 3 goes like this:

|3|2|4|=100.0;
For exporting, as in getting data from the database, we can use a simple query to get the data of one cell:

|3|2|4|

Or mathematical expressions can be used:

|3|2|4|+0.5+|1|2|100|

Which gives us a floating number, depending on how the cells were populated earlier. In addition to the regular expressions, certain mathematical functions can be used too.

math.abs math.acos math.asin math.atan math.atan2 math.ceil math.cos math.cosh math.deg math.exp math.floor math.fmod math.frexp math.huge math.ldexp math.log math.log10 math.max math.min math.modf math.pi math.pow math.rad math.random math.randomseed math.sin math.sinh math.sqrt math.tanh math.tan

math.sin(|1|2|3|)+100.0

All of them are functions of the Lua scripting language which is used now to solve the mysteries of the mathematical expressions. But, in the future versions, Lua will be used to bring effective scripting to the DMS.
Download the pre-alpha version of the server if you like. It comes with the necessary Lua.dll. Start the server with giving it a port to listen.
